Established in the Fall of 1987 by Sailor Ron, Anchor Steam TattooGallery is located in beautiful Newport, RI.  Upon his retirement in December 2000, Sailor Ron sold the business to its current owner, Jen Clinch Guertin. We are a full-service custom design studio.  We specialize in all things tattooing - all design styles big or small, cover-ups, portraits, and restoration.

    Featuring the work of artists Jen Clinch Guertin, Will Walsh, Luke Taylor, and Peter Toatley Anchor Steam prides itself on its friendly and talented staff.  Each artist is highly versatile and experienced.  We strive to provide an extremely professional and creative environment to give the client a unique and fulfilling experience.  Our stellar reputation is very important to us and we strive to create repeat business with each client.

We’ve found that over the years, our client’s requests for tattoos have become more and more unique and personal, and they usually bring in their own ideas or images.  We welcome this challenge and work hard to make any idea into a beautiful piece.  We can custom draw anything for you at no extra charge, but if you need ideas, we have them, too.

    Of course, all tattooing is done under the strict guidelines of the Rhode Island Department of Health, license number TAT01980.  Each artist has his or her own room and all tattooing is done privately so we can provide you with the utmost attention and professionalism.
